Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov held a conversation with his Iranian counterpart, Abbas Araghchi.

According to the statement, the phone call was initiated by the Iranian side:

'During the call, the primary focus was on the escalation of the situation in Syria, including "terrorist attacks" in Aleppo and Idlib provinces. Both sides expressed serious concern over the escalation and reaffirmed their support for Syria's sovereignty and territorial integrity. The ministers agreed to increase joint efforts to stabilize the situation and emphasized the need for an urgent discussion within the Astana Process framework.'
