The President of Georgia, Salome Zurabishvili, held a phone conversation with the new President of the Council of Europe, Antonio Costa, and the European Commissioner for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell.

Axar.az informs that this was reported by the Administration of the President of Georgia.

The parties discussed the situation in the republic.

It should be noted that protests started on November 28, following the announcement by Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze that negotiations for EU membership would be suspended until 2028. The protests, which have been ongoing for the fourth day, have involved clashes with the police, and dozens of protesters have been detained.
