Russian President Vladimir Putin and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian had a telephone conversation.

Axar.az reports that the press service of the Kremlin released information about this.

It was reported that the telephone conversation took place on the initiative of the Iranian side:

"The main focus is on the escalation of the situation in the Syrian Arab Republic. It was noted that the large-scale aggression of terrorist groups and gangs aims to attack the sovereignty, political and socio-economic stability of the Syrian state. Unconditional support was expressed for the steps taken by the legal authorities of Syria in the direction of restoring the country's constitutional structure and territorial integrity, and the importance of coordination of efforts within the framework of the Astana format with the participation of Turkiye was emphasized. "The plan of future contacts between the presidents and at other levels has been determined."

It should be noted that the relative stability that has been going on for 4 years in Syria has been disrupted, the "Tahrir al-Sham" group captured the cities of Aleppo and Idlib and attacked Hama.
