US military communicates with Russia in Syria

The U.S. military confirmed that communication has been established with Russia regarding the situation in Syria as military activity increases in the region.

Axar.az reports that Pentagon spokesman Patrick Ryder provided this information during the recent press briefing.

Pentagon spokesperson explained that the commander of the Combined Joint Task Force – Operation Inherent Resolve (CJTFOIR) has used a secure hotline to maintain open lines of communication with Russia. This is especially important due to the close proximity of U.S. and Russian forces operating in Syria.

Ryder emphasized that while he would not go into specifics about the conversations, the communication mechanism exists to prevent potential miscalculations. He further stated that the U.S. will continue to coordinate with other countries in the region as the situation evolves.
