Qatar's Emir begins state visit to the UK

The Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, was officially welcomed by King Charles III and Prince William of Wales as part of a two-day state visit to Great Britain.

Axar.az reports that a parade was held along Buckingham Palace for the Emir of Qatar. Kate Middleton, Prince of Wales, also took part in the carriage procession during the parade.

As part of the state visit, the emir and his wife of Qatar had dinner at Buckingham Palace, and then visited the parliament. In the evening, they will attend a state banquet.

The British Foreign Office says that Qatar is one of Britain's main defense partners. Trade between the United Kingdom and Qatar is worth £6.6 billion a year. Qatar has an investment of £40 billion in the UK economy.
