Iranian forces begin withdrawal from Syria

Forces of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and Iranian army personnel have begun withdrawing from Syria.

Axar.az reports that this information was shared on Iranian Telegram channels.

It is noted that Iran took this step following the collapse of Assad's forces due to an attack by "Hayat Tahrir al-Sham" and the rapid movement of the Free Syrian Army (FSA) in the north, which rendered the regime's defense impossible.

The evacuation of Iranian citizens reportedly began last evening.
