EU plans new sanctions on Russia for February 2025

The European Union (EU) plans to adopt a new package of sanctions against Russia in February 2025, on the third anniversary of the war with Ukraine.

Axar.az reports that "Welt am Sonntag" published information about this with reference to sources in the EU.

It is noted that preparatory works have already started:

"The next package of sanctions is intended as a clear signal to official Moscow. The restrictions will include measures against specific areas of the Russian economy that are still not covered by sanctions or are not covered sufficiently."
