Lara Trump drops Senate bid, supports Rubio

Lara Trump, the daughter-in-law of the newly elected US President Donald Trump, has withdrawn her candidacy for the position of senator from Florida in favor of Mark Rubio, the current senator and candidate for the position of secretary of state.

Axar.az reports that on her account on the "X" social network.

"After thinking, I have decided to withdraw my candidacy for the United States Senate," Lara Trump wrote.

He said that before that he was thinking of taking a seat in the Senate.

On November 6, Trump said that, unlike in his first term, his daughter Ivanka Trump, and son-in-law Jared Kushner are important advisers, but their children will not be included in the new administration.

The inauguration ceremony of the US president will be held on January 20 next year at the Capitol in Washington. Trump will take the oath, after which he will be promised.

The ceremony will be followed by a ceremonial parade and an inaugural ball.
