Putin and Tokayev talk AZAL crash

Russian President Vladimir Putin and Kazakhstan President Gasim-Jomart Tokayev had a telephone conversation.

Axar.az reports that the press service of the Kremlin released information about this.

The leaders expressed their condolences to each other on the death of citizens of Kazakhstan and Russia as a result of the crash of the AZAL plane and wished for the speedy recovery of the injured.

Tokayev and Putin discussed the work done by the parties to determine the causes of the accident.

It was stated that it is important to ensure a comprehensive and transparent investigation.

It should be noted that on December 25, the AZAL plane carrying out the Baku-Grozny flight was shot down by Russian air defense systems in the sky of Grozny and was seriously damaged. The plane headed for Aktau crashed near the Aktau airport because it was not allowed to land. As a result of the accident, 38 of the 67 people on board died, and 29 survived.

Regarding the incident, Russian leader Vladimir Putin called President Ilham Aliyev and apologized.
