Pashinyan defends hotel expenses after public backlash

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has revealed that the expenses for the hotel room during his visit to the Vatican in November, along with his wife and daughter, amounted to 787,000 drams (approximately 2,000 dollars).

Axar.az reports that the Armenian Prime Minister shared this information on his social media account.

He stated that this issue caused a public reaction and published video footage taken in the hotel room.

Pashinyan mentioned that he returned from the Vatican that day, while his wife Anna Akopyan stayed there for an intergovernmental event (the event was related to an action dedicated to the 1000th day of the Russia-Ukraine conflict – editor's note).

It should be noted that in December, media reports suggested that the visit to the Vatican, funded by state funds, cost millions of drams, and Akopyan stayed there for about a week.
