The new Syrian authorities have demanded that the militants of the PKK lay down their arms.

Axar.az informs that this was reported by Abdelkadir Selvi, a columnist for "Hurriyet."

He stated that two meetings have been held between representatives of the new Syrian government and the PKK:

"PKK demanded a division or army corps in the newly created Syrian army in exchange for laying down their arms, as well as equally dividing the oil fields in Syria. However, Damascus did not even discuss these conditions. It was demanded that the PKK lay down its arms, that non-Syrians within the terrorist organization leave the country, and that around 20 members of the governing body go to Germany, Switzerland, or Belgium."
