Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, nearing the end of its third bloody year, has reached an inflection point. Ukraine is losing territory, troops and time.
Axar.az reports that The Washington Post has written about this.
According to the publication, the next few weeks will determine whether Ukraine can continue to exist as a sovereign state within its preinvasion borders, or close to them.
Publication also mentions that Russia now controls approximately 20 percent of Ukrainian territory and is advancing further westward every day, particularly in the directions of Pokrovsk and Kurakhove. Ukrainian troops who occupied the Kursk region in August have lost about 40 percent of the territory they captured in a sudden attack and are at risk of being encircled. Ukraine is suffering losses that far exceed its ability to continue the fight. The official estimate of casualties, including dead and wounded, is 400,000. Time is of the essence for Ukraine. It is unlikely that Ukraine can endure this devastating war for another year.
