The Armenian government has approved a draft law on initiating the process of the country's accession to the European Union.

Axar.az informs that this was reported by Armenian media.

"The draft law on the start of Armenia's EU membership process was submitted for discussion in the National Assembly as a civic initiative, and now the government must express its position," said Minister of Foreign Affairs Ararat Mirzoyan.

It should be noted that Prime Minister Pashinyan previously said that regardless of whether the parliament adopts the relevant draft law, Armenia's intention to join the EU should be confirmed through a nationwide referendum.
