Syrian interim government thwarts IS plot to bomb mosque

Syria's interim government security forces carried out an operation to prevent an explosion at the Sayyida Zainab Mosque south of Damascus.

Axar.az reports that this information was shared by Syria's SANA news agency.

According to a source in Syrian intelligence, the terror attack was planned by militants from the ISIS terrorist organization.

"During the operation, ISIS members involved in preparing this heinous act against the Syrian people were apprehended," the source emphasized.
