Ex-Pakistan PM Imran Khan sentenced to 14 years in prison

Former Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan has been sentenced to 14 years in prison on corruption charges.

Axar.az informs that this information was reported by local media.

The Pakistani court also sentenced his wife, Bushra Bibi, to 7 years in prison.

The couple are accused of accepting a gift of land from a real estate tycoon in exchange for laundered money when Khan was in power.

The verdict in the case, the largest in terms of financial wrongdoing faced by Khan, was delivered by an anti-graft court in a prison in the garrison city of Rawalpindi, where Khan has been jailed since August 2023.
