There's no winner in a trade or tariff war.

Axar.az reports that this statement was made by Mao Ning, a spokesperson for China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs in response to a question regarding Donald Trump's plan to impose new tariff on Chinese exports to the US, starting February 1.

"We stand ready to maintain communication with the US, properly handle differences, expand mutually beneficial cooperation and pursue a steady, sound and sustainable development of China-US relationship. China will also firmly defend its own interests," Mao Ning said.

It should be noted that President Donald Trump announced he might impose an additional 10% tariff on goods imported from China starting February 1.
