Russian and Turkish Foreign Ministers Sergey Lavrov and Hakan Fidan had a telephone conversation.

Axar.az reports that the Russian Foreign Ministry published a statement on this.

“During the conversation, views were exchanged on the development of the situation in Syria and its surroundings. The need for unconditional respect for the sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity of Syria was confirmed,” the statement says.

The Foreign Ministers stressed the importance of uniting the efforts of all foreign actors who are truly capable of contributing to a comprehensive settlement of the situation based on ensuring the legitimate rights of all Syrian citizens, regardless of their political views, and ethnic and religious affiliation.

In addition, Lavrov expressed condolences to his Turkish counterpart over the tragic incident at a ski resort in the Bolu province, which resulted in the death and injury of a large number of people.
