Lukashenko pardons 15 prisoners ahead of elections

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has signed a decree granting pardon to 15 prisoners.

Axar.az reports that this was announced by the Belarusian leader's press service.

"Five women and three men convicted of extremist crimes have been pardoned. Five of them have children, and one woman is pregnant. Additionally, seven people, including three women convicted for illegal drug trafficking, have also been pardoned," the statement says.

It should be noted that the presidential election in Belarus will be held on January 26.
