Pashinyan calls to investigate Armenian genocide claim

We must return to the history of the "Armenian genocide". We must understand what happened and why.

Axar.az reports that this was said by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a meeting with members of the Armenian diaspora in Switzerland.

He stated that the history of the "Armenian genocide" claim and how it was raised should be investigated:

"We must know how and with whose help we accepted this issue. How is it that in 1939 this topic was not mentioned anywhere at all, but in 1950 it suddenly comes to the agenda? It must be clarified."

It should be noted that Nikol Pashinyan previously stated that the "Armenian genocide" claim was deliberately raised and exaggerated during the Soviet era, on the eve of Turkiye's joining the NATO coalition.
