Based on agreements between the two country leaders, the construction of a new border and customs terminal at the Kelala border checkpoint is being carried out simultaneously with the construction of the Araz Transit Corridor.

Axar.az reports that this information was provided by Sadeq Namdar, the customs supervisor of the East Azerbaijan province.

"The opening of the new terminal in Kelala will facilitate and significantly increase economic and transit relations between Iran and Azerbaijan," Namdar said.
