A ship with a crew from Russia was detained in Portugal

Spanish and American intelligence agencies have detained the Baltic Summer container ship with a Russian crew off the coast of Portugal on suspicion of drug trafficking.

Axar.az reports this citing the “Faro de Vigo” newspaper.

The Spanish Civil Guard, together with the US FBI, detained the Baltic Summer container ship with a Russian crew off the coast of Portugal, which was en route from the port of Puerto Bolivar to St. Petersburg. The vessel was suspected of smuggling a large shipment of drugs from South America.

It is noted that the inspection did not reveal drugs on the ship, so the crew of 23 people was released to the port of destination, and the container ship was towed to the Spanish port of Vigo.
