France has begun discussing with Denmark the possibility of deploying troops to Greenland in response to US President Donald Trump's threats to seize the island.

Axar.az reports that the head of the French Foreign Ministry discussed the issue with Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen.

In an interview with French radio "Sud", Barrot said that France has begun discussions with Denmark on the issue of deploying troops to Greenland. He noted that if necessary, other EU countries could also send their troops.
