Japanese seismologist and civil engineer Yoshinori Moriwaki has issued a warning to the Turkish public regarding the Aegean Sea and surrounding areas, where earthquakes are occurring regularly.

Axar.az reports that the seismologist claimed that if this continues, a 7 or 7.5 magnitude earthquake will occur in the Aegean basin.

He also drew attention to the risk of a tsunami in the Aegean Sea:

"The earthquake itself will not have much impact on Turkiye. But a tsunami is expected. There may be a 5-meter tsunami in the region. When you feel the earthquake or receive information, you should go to a height of at least 5 meters. That is, at least 1-2 floors up"
