The Air India flight, which was headed to New York’s John F Kennedy International Airport, was diverted to Mumbai over Azerbaijan.

An Air India flight from Mumbai to New York (AI119) was forced to return mid-air Monday after a note threatening a blast was discovered in the washroom of the aircraft.
The plane, carrying 303 passengers and 19 crew members, landed safely in Mumbai at 10:25 AM local time (07:55 Baku time).
The flight has been rescheduled to depart at 5 am (02:30 Baku time) on Tuesday, March 11. Meanwhile, the airline said all passengers have been provided hotel accommodation, meals, and other necessary assistance.
An Air India spokesperson stated, “A potential security threat was detected mid-flight on AI119 operating Mumbai-New York (JFK) today, March 10. After following the necessary protocols, the flight returned to Mumbai in the interest of the safety and security of all on board.”
