Turkiye seeks closer ties with Europe in exchange for security, as the continent looks for ways to lessen its dependence on Trump's America.
Axar.az informs that Bloomberg reported this according to people familiar with the matter.
"President Erdogan wants closer defense and economic cooperation with the EU in return for security as the continent looks at ways to reduce reliance on Washington. That could include Turkish troops joining a future Ukraine peacekeeping mission.
Turkiye is leveraging its traditional role straddling east and west, with its NATO membership and Muslim identity under Erdogan giving it credibility on both sides at the crossroads of Europe and the Middle East," the publication reported.
It is worth noting that Polish Prime Minister Tusk visited Turkiye yesterday and met with President Erdogan.
