Since no arrest warrant was issued against Ekrem Imamoglu on terror charges, there is no need to appoint a trustee to the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality.

Axar.az reports that this information was shared by Turkish media.

The mayor will be elected from within the municipal council.

Notably, the court reviewed two cases against Imamoglu today. While an arrest warrant was issued on corruption charges, the request for his arrest on terror charges was rejected.

The Istanbul Chief Prosecutor's Office announced that it would appeal the court's decision on terror charges.
