Large-scale anti-terror operations were conducted in six German states.
Axar.az, citing Bild, reports that anti-terror operations were carried out across Hesse, North Rhine-Westphalia, Baden-Württemberg, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Bavaria, and Rhineland-Palatinate. Authorities searched a total of 19 locations.
More than 200 officers from the Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA) and local police forces participated in the operation, aiming to arrest 17 suspects believed to be founders and members of the terrorist group "Brigade N'Hamedu." This group is known as an internationally networked organization seeking to overthrow the government in Eritrea.
Rеports indicate that this terrorist network has been operating in Germany for at least three years and has repeatedly resorted to violence at Eritrean community events. The German Federal Prosecutor's Office stated that the group views attacks on local police as a legitimate tactic.
The "Brigade N'Hamedu" is held responsible for violent clashes during Eritrean festivals in Gießen (2022 & 2023) and Stuttgart (2023), which resulted in numerous police officers being injured.
