Russian and Turkish Presidents Vladimir Putin and Recep Tayyip Erdogan had a telephone conversation.

Axar.az informs that the Kremlin press service reported on this.

The leaders discussed the results of the recent consultations of Russian and US expert groups in Riyadh, and exchanged views on the Black Sea Initiative, the restoration of the grain agreement, and projects in the energy sector.

Recep Tayyip Erdogan expressed his support for the Russian-American dialogue and the readiness of the Turkish side to facilitate the progress of the Black Sea agreement.

Putin and Erdogan noted with satisfaction the positive dynamics of bilateral relations and the growth of mutual trade.

“During the discussion of the current situation in Syria, the leaders emphasized the importance of ensuring the unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country, the need to provide all possible assistance to its authorities and people to strengthen internal political stability, and respect the legitimate rights and interests of all ethnic and religious groups of the population,” the Kremlin said in a statement.

The Russian president told the Turkish leader about Kyiv's continued attempts to attack Russia's energy infrastructure.

In the phone call, Putin also congratulated Erdogan and the entire Turkish people on the holy month of Ramadan and the upcoming Eid al-Fitr.
