The presence of Ukraine's Defense Forces in the Kursk and Belgorod regions serves three main purposes: military, political, and psychological.
Axar.az reports this was expressed by the chairman of the Council of Reservists of the Ukrainian Ground Forces, Ivan Timochko.
"This is what once forced Russia to make concessions to the much smaller Ichkeria. Ichkeria took the initiative and when it started to move beyond its territory, deep into Russia, it led to the Russian command agreeing to peace negotiations for the first time. Our actions and presence on Russian territory are breaking the narrative of Russia’s invincibility and that Putin can control the entire situation. This is what allows us to appear strong in international negotiations," said Timochko.
He also added that Russia once again wants to launch an offensive on the Kharkiv and Sumy regions. However, the presence of Ukraine’s Defense Forces on Russian territory is breaking the occupiers' plans.
"They are forced to keep a large number of soldiers in these directions, where there is a potential threat from us. Therefore, we will now monitor where they are potentially preparing to launch an offensive. And we will tie up Russian forces on their territory with significantly smaller units," added Timochko.
