China denies Xi-Trump talk

The Chinese Foreign Ministry has announced that there has been no recent telephone conversation between President Xi Jinping of the People's Republic of China and US President Donald Trump.

Axar.az reports that ministry official Guo Jiakun made the following statement while commenting on US President Donald Trump's statement in an interview with Time magazine that President Xi Jinping of the People's Republic of China had called him.

Guo Jiakun stated that there had been no talks between the two countries on the tariff issue in general:

"Let me clarify once again that China and the US are not holding any consultations or negotiations on the tariff issue."
