EU must boost defense

The European Union (EU) expects the United States to stop providing security for Europe and to shift its military focus to other regions of the world.

Axar.az reports that these thoughts were expressed by the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen.

"We know that America's attention in the field of security will shift to other regions. Therefore, peace in Europe requires European leaders to take more responsibility into their own hands," she said.

Leyen also added that the military threat to the EU from Russia will not disappear over time.
