Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will not travel to Moscow for the May 9 celebrations marking the anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War and World War II.

Axar.az reports this was announced by Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov.

The Kremlin representative added that India will be represented at the event, but not at the highest level.

It should be noted that tensions have risen between Pakistan and India following the shooting at tourists in the Jammu and Kashmir region on April 22.
