World’s oldest person dies at 116 in Brazil

Inah Canabarro Lucas, considered the world’s oldest person, has passed away at the age of 116.

Axar.az reports that this information was released by the organization “LongeviQuest,” which verifies data on long-lived individuals.

"LongeviQuest is saddened to report the passing of Inah Canabarro Lucas, the world’s oldest living person, in Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. She passed away today, 30 April, at the age of 116 years, 326 days.

With her passing, the title of the world’s oldest person now passes to Ethel Caterham, a resident of Surrey, England, who is currently 115 years and 252 days old. Also, at 114, Izabel Rosa Pereira has now succeeded her as Brazil’s oldest resident," the organization noted.
