The Turkish Armed Forces are planning to establish military bases in Syria as part of the fight against terrorism.

Axar.az reports that the "Turkiye" newspaper published information about this, citing sources.

"Sources said that the Turkish Armed Forces will establish an Air Force and Navy base in Syria to fight ISIS," the publication wrote.

According to the information, regular meetings are held between five countries, including Turkiye, to discuss the mechanism for combating the group in Syria as part of the fight against ISIS.

It is not disclosed which other countries are participating in the talks.

Sources said that a possible meeting between Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and US President Donald Trump could help resolve a number of key issues in the Syrian conflict.
