A phone conversation took place between Vladimir Medinsky, an aide to the Russian President and head of the Russian delegation in negotiations with Ukraine, and Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov.
Axar.az reports that Medinsky disclosed this information to journalists.
“Russia has proposed the exact date and location for the second round of talks in the coming days to exchange memorandums on a settlement with Ukraine,” Medinsky stated.
He emphasized that the phone call was initiated by him:
“I read the news published by global agencies claiming that Umerov called me about a memorandum we supposedly have not yet prepared. They say the Russians are dragging their feet. Everything was more or less like that — except the opposite. Today, I called Umerov and proposed the exact date and location for a meeting to exchange the memorandums. At that very meeting, we are ready to begin thorough discussions on every point of a future ceasefire agreement package.”
