On the night of June 6, the Ukrainian Defense Forces carried out preemptive strikes on enemy aviation airfields that are directly involved in shelling Ukraine.

Axar.az informs, citing RBC Ukraine, this occurred on the eve of a large-scale Russian attack on Ukrainian cities, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

It is noted that as a result of the operation, the "Engels" airfield in the Saratov region, where strategic bombers are based, was hit, as well as the Dyagilevo airfield in the Ryazan region, from which aerial refuelers and escort fighters take off.

In both regions, powerful explosions, fires, and smoke were recorded, and at some sites–large-scale ignition of fuel and lubricant storage tanks (POL).

The Ukrainian Defense Forces also attacked a number of important enemy sites on the territory of Russia and temporarily occupied areas of Ukraine.

"The logistical point of the 30th motorized rifle regiment of the 72nd motorized rifle division of the Russian army was hit in the area of the settlement of Kulbaki, Kursk region. The results of the strike are being clarified," the General Staff stated.

It should be noted that on June 1, the Ukrainian Security Service conducted a large-scale operation called “Spider Web” against Russia’s strategic bomber aviation.
