A 6.8 magnitude earthquake was recorded in central Colombia.

Axar.az reports citing local media that the epicenter of the earthquake was located 73 kilometers northeast of the city of Villavicencio, at a depth of 10 km.

The earthquake is considered "destructive" based on the intensity at the epicenter.

The US Geological Survey estimated the magnitude of the earthquake at 6.3.
