The US may consider the possibility of using military measures to protect transit ships in the Strait of Hormuz.

Axar.az reports that US Secretary of State Mark Rubio said this on CBS.

"If Iran decides to close the Strait, the first to be angry will be the Chinese - they depend on the oil passing through here," the diplomat noted.

He added that such a step by Tehran would lead to a large-scale escalation, and not only the US, but also other states would respond to this.

It should be noted that the Iranian parliament has adopted a decision to close the Strait of Hormuz.
