In the past 15 days, 17 people have been detained in connection with forest fires set in various regions of Turkiye.

Axar.az informs that this was reported by Turkiye’s Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç.

The minister referred to the country’s forested areas as the “Green Homeland” and called on citizens to protect them.

It is worth noting that on July 25, firefighters and volunteers battled to extinguish a total of 73 forest fires. The vast majority of these fires were caused by human activity.
