Russia plans leadership shake-up

The Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, Valery Gerasimov, will be dismissed.

Axar.az reports that the Russian Telegram channel "Insider" published information about this.

"The Presidential Administration recognizes that the Chief of the General Staff's talent is exhausted, and he should find a replacement in the form of a younger and more progressive general," the information noted.

It was noted that they now want to formalize his dismissal while preserving Gerasimov's immunity:

"Gerasimov will live out his old age without the threat of criminal liability and, if he wishes, will be able to take the post of rector of the General Staff Academy, where he will focus on the theoretical training of personnel."
