President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva met with the head of the Catholic Church in the Vatican, Pope Francis on February 22.

Axar.az reports the press service of the President stated about the meeting.

A guard of honor was lined up in honor of President Ilham Aliyev. Greeting President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva, the Pope recalled their visit to the Vatican and his visit to Azerbaijan in 2016 and expressed his satisfaction with the visit.
