UN Secretary-General congratulated Muslims

I convey my sincere wishes to millions of Muslims around the world on the occasion of the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan.

Axar.az reports that the statement came from UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres while congratulating Muslims around the world on Ramadan.

He said that this time Ramadan will be very different:

"Measures taken against the new type of coronavirus will affect many collective activities. At the same time, many people will enter the month of Ramadan in the shadow of wars."

Recalling the verses of peace from the Holy Quran, Guterres called for a ceasefire in the international community:

"It is important that we fight the virus, which is the common enemy of mankind."
