Azerbaijani actor dies in France

French actor, director, and cultural figure of Azerbaijani origin Robert Hossein has died.

Axar.az reports that the 93-year-old actor died today at a hospital where he was treated for a coronavirus.

Hossein's father Aminulla Huseynov, born in Paris in 1927, was a Samarkand Azerbaijani.

The actor, best known for his play Paris Notre Dame, has authored films such as The Battleship Potemkin, The Miserables, Julius Caesar, Jesus, Danton, Robespierre, The Woman named Mary, and more.
