Azerbaijani mugham singer gives concert

Azerbaijan`s mugham singer Alim Gasimov and his daughter Fargana have given a concert at Wigmore Hall in London.

They were accompanied by Rafael Asgarov (balaban), Rauf Islamov (kamancha), Zaki Valiyev (tar) and Javidan Nabiyev (naghara).

The ensemble was paired with Tajik instrumentalist Sirojiddin Juraev, the leading dutar player of his generation and an influential composer of new tradition-based music.
