The British economy shrank by 20 per cent

The British economy contracted by 20.4% in April-June compared to the first quarter of this year.

Axar.az reports that the statement came from the National Statistics Office.

The reason is the global coronavirus pandemic.

The last time the technical downturn in the United Kingdom was observed was in 2009.

The UK is one of the countries most affected by the coronavirus.
