Hurricane Amphan caused great damage to India.

Axar.az reports that, as a result of the hurricane, 5,500 houses were destroyed and two people died.

Amphan, one of the strongest hurricanes of the last 20 years, reached the coasts of India and Bangladesh from the Bay of Bengal in the morning local time.

The hurricane, with wind speeds of up to 100 kilometers per hour, caused heavy rains in the Indian states of Odisha and West Bengal and Bangladesh. 650,000 people were evacuated in India and 2 million in Bangladesh due to the disaster. Strong winds toppled electric poles and trees, causing severe damage to buildings.
