Strong earthquake in the Pacific Ocean

A magnitude 5.7 earthquake shook the Pacific Ocean.

Axar.az reports that the US Geological Survey said the quake was recorded in the Luayot Islands group of New Caledonia.

The epicenter was 440 km southeast of the town of Tadin, home to 7,500 people.

The epicenter was located at a depth of 10 km. No tsunami alert was issued.
