Nine onboard a special forces helicopter were killed after it crash-landed in Maidan Wardak province of Afghanistan on Wednesday night, the country's defense ministry said on Thursday.

Axar.az reports according to the official news agency, a Mi-17 helicopter crash-landed in Behsud district in Maidan Wardak late Wednesday.

Nine people, including a pilot and five security force members of the Afghan army, were killed in the crash, the Ministry of Defense was quoted as saying.
