Five Russian servicemen were trapped in an avalanche in South Ossetia.

Axar.az reports that the statement came from Russia's Southern Military District.

The incident took place on the Transcaucasian highway.

The condition of 3 servicemen rescued from the avalanche is assessed as moderate-severe. The other two are being searched.
