At least 13 people have died in a bus accident in southern Colombia when the vehicle plunged off a cliff.

Axar.az reports that Colombia's Minister of Transport, María Constanza García, provided this information.

"So far, authorities have reported 13 fatalities and 19 injured passengers," she stated.

The bus was traveling from Cali to the village of Ipiales, near the border with Ecuador. Preliminary reports indicate that the vehicle experienced a mechanical failure, causing the driver to lose control and the bus to fall from a height.
